Beginner and Basic Drawing Gallery: Ages 5 to 9 years
“Beginners” refers to a class level where students, ages five to six years, begin classes for the first time. The primary emphasis in this level is to develop control of materials and learn proper techniques. Secondary goals are to learn about planning, organization and persistance (not quitting due to drawing inaccuracies). Basic Drawing students are grouped into two levels, A and B, which represent their age ranges and degree of experience. Basic A students are generally six through seven years, while Basic B students are eight through nine years of age. Projects for all three of these levels may be similar or very different depending upon the subject matter, complexity and learning objectives of the project.
THIS GALLERY combines artwork from the above class levels. It represents a sampling of drawings and paintings that have been shown in our yearly student art shows. Click on any thumbnail picture below to see an enlarged image, or start at the first image and view an entire slide show.
